  1. A bit about the Country Lodge background.

Dating back to the early 1800’s Country Lodge was an old Sussex barn in the beautiful West Sussex region which was converted into a nursing home.  It was taken over byJohn and Clare Wright seventeen years ago and extensively refurbished with beautiful new curtains, carpets and linens that are regularly updated providing comfortable and homely accommodation for its residents.

Located on the edge of Worthing in High Salvington, this West Sussex nursing home is easily accessible from the A27, with many of our residents from other areas as well as Worthing and its environs.

Country Lodge Nursing Home is set amongst breathtaking views of the South Downs and the West Sussex countryside. With all year round beautiful, colourful and  well maintained gardens, many residents enjoy spending time either outside or looking out through the large French windows.

Happy, friendly and homely are often the main words used to describe our nursing home. Residents are relaxed in each other’s company and often exchange friendly banter amongst themselves and our welcoming staff.

Offering a pleasant environment that respects individuality, we like to involve our residents when creating their ‘home-from-home’ atmosphere. We welcome personal possessions and will always try to accommodate requests.

Our large dining room and sitting room are popular areas within our nursing home. Many residents enjoy much of their time in the company of others here, activities take place within them and visitors often enjoy relaxing and chatting with loved ones in these warm and relaxing community areas.

  1. Bedrooms that you can make your own

Each room has its own unique atmosphere and décor and are fitted with an attractive and comfortable fully profiling bed. Specialist mattresses are also available if required. A telephone, modern TV and 24 hr call service are also included within each room. Most of the rooms have en suite facilities and many have garden views as well. We always encourage residents to bring photos and ornaments from their home, making it a more personal space for residents to enjoy some quiet time.

  1. Our highly qualified staff

Equipped with the highest level of training, both our nursing home Manager and Deputy Manager have the Registered Managers Award Level 5, with many of our staff holding an NVQ3 qualification. With the highest quality of care central to our ethos, ongoing development and training is of paramount importance to us.

  1. Daily activities to keep our residents busy

We have a designated activities coordinator at Country Lodge, as we like to have fun and keep our residents active and involved. Weekly quizzes, games and crafts are just some of the regular features, ten-pin bowling and theatre productions while other activities have included ten-pin bowling, an art exhibition and a vintage tea dance!

  1. Our freshly made cuisine

Food is important to us. Using only fresh ingredients, with many being organic and produced in our own grounds, meals at Country Lodge are nutritious and balanced. Our in- house chef and his team are able to cater for any special dietary requirements. Tea and homemade cake are on offer every afternoon to residents and their families that visit.

A hairdresser, physiotherapist and chiropodist all attend the nursing home on a regular basis. We understand the importance of preserving dignity and pride for our residents as part of ensuring they retain as much independence as possible.

For each of our residents, we want to ensure life carries on in the best possible circumstances. We work hard to foster and maintain relationships with our families and welcome relatives and friends into the home at any time of the day. We pride ourselves on offering a warm and friendly environment and if you wish to have a meal or share a piece of cake and a cup of tea on your visit, you are always welcome.

We were granted a full complement of green ticks for each of the key standards of care and management under our Quality and Risk Profile. Although no longer operating their star rating system, the above achievement would translate to their previous top 3-star accolade.
