Nursing Home in West Sussex | County Lodge

Worthing is a traditional seaside town located on the West Sussex coast in the United Kingdom. Famously known for its ‘hidden delights’, Worthing is full of surprises waiting to be explored. The wide seafront is a great place for family walks and the picturesque beaches are the perfect spot for picnics. The town also makes an excellent base from which to explore wider Sussex when visiting your loved one.

Country Lodge believes that having a nursing home located in West Sussex has not only a positive impact on its residents but also the families of the loved one. In this article, we outline some of the benefits of choosing nursing homes in West Sussex.

Worthing’s stunning location

There is nothing more wonderful than waking up to the sounds of our rural companions – the birds. Our nursing home in West Sussex is lucky enough to be close to The South Downs, a newly designated National Park that runs from Winchester to Eastbourne. With views of the South Downs from our nursing home in West Sussex, the wildlife we see is ever-changing, and for many of our residents, sitting and listening to the birds or watching horses in the neighbouring fields is one of their favourite activities. To have an idea of how stunning our gardens are, you can see photos on our gallery here >>

We are so lucky to have these lovely gardens with their beautifully appointed garden rooms at our nursing home in West Sussex. The gardens and window boxes are all maintained by our brilliant gardener, Paula, who makes sure there is something for our residents to look at all year round. Even in winter, it’s a pleasure to look out on the gardens and in warmer weather, our residents like to go for a stroll around the grounds or enjoy lunch on the lawn on balmy summer days.

Country Lodge is closely located to Worthing beach, which has been recognised as one of the best in the country after winning the coveted Seaside Award for the second year running in 2018. The honour recognises and rewards beaches that achieve the highest standards of beach management and required standards for water quality. We love to give our residents the chance to explore Worthing beach, to breath in the fresh sea air, along with the opportunity to enjoy a portion of fish and chips and an ice cream. We are well connected

We understand that sometimes it can be hard to put your loved one in a nursing home that’s located far away from where you live. However, our nursing home in West Sussex is very well connected for all types of transport meaning you don’t have to worry about the travel arrangements as there are several options.

The borough of Worthing features five main railway stations which are all managed and operated by the Southern train operating company. Travelling couldn’t be easier as the train stations are easily accessible from most surrounding locations, for example, Worthing is located just a 90-minute train journey from London Victoria station or 20 minutes from Brighton. This makes it incredibly easy to hop on a train for a day trip to visit your loved one at Country Lodge. The nearest train station to Country lodge is ‘Durrington-on-Sea railway station’ which is in Goring, a suburb of Worthing in the county of West Sussex. Alternatively, the home is just off the main arterial A27 where it meets the A24 both of which are dual carriageways.

Friends and relatives are always welcome and may visit us here at Country Lodge Nursing Home at any time. We are very happy to include visitors for lunch or a cup of tea – and our excellent chef and kitchen staff always ensure that a homemade cake is on offer!
