Our values are at the heart of everything we do at Country Lodge. We take a lot of pride in ensuring that each and every resident, as well as all our staff, feel like they are truly part of the family.
In this article, we explain a little about our values and why they are so important to us.
The service we provide to our residents doesn’t stop at just caring for them, we become their friends and offer them companionship when they need it.
Simple gestures such as celebrating a birthday, playing their favourite games, enjoying some homemade cake or just simply just being there make all the difference (especially during the last year we’ve all had!)
Our staff are always thinking outside the box when it comes to the day-to-day care of our residents and their kindness always shines through.

Most people do not think about additional care until they need it for themselves or for a loved one. We understand that looking into a nursing home can be a daunting prospect, which is why we underpin all we do with compassion in our interactions with residents and their families.
We have worked hard to create a “home from home”, to ease the transition from into care as much as possible.
Respect and dignity go hand in hand and are as important between staff as it is between staff and residents. Respect permeates everything we do – whether it is working to constantly improve the care we provide for residents, making it more person centered and bespoke, by learning from good practice and receiving feedback from residents and relatives or training our staff. Listening and learning are integral to what we do – they enable us to constantly improve and to work better as a team in serving the residents.
Some of our residents love to socialise every waking minute of the day, spending most of their time within the communal areas of our nursing home and getting involved in the daily activities and communal meals we have available. However, for some individuals, especially those who have come from living on their own, they prefer some quiet time and enjoy their own presence.
Whatever choice a resident makes from day to day is completely up to them and we will respect and support their decisions.
Each resident has their own ensuite private bedroom, many of which overlook our beautiful garden. There are various garden seating areas within the grounds of Country Lodge which on a nice day, render listening to the birds chirping idyllic. Then is of course an indoor lounge and a dining area, both of which have views across the gardens and into the South Downs National Park.
The well-being of our staff members is vital to the successful running of our Worthing nursing home. We are grateful to have very many loyal and long-serving staff which provides a stable staff team, committed to improving the care for our residents and enabling long-term relationships to be built between staff and residents.
